Abstract

This study aimed to describe the prevalence of frailty and its factors in hospitalized elderly patients. A cross-sectional study was conducted on 287 elderly patients who came for examination and treatment at the Geriatrics Department of E Hospital. The frailty was assessed by Modified Fried Frailty Scale. The mean age was 75.18, with females predominating (73.5%). The oldest was 96 years old. The average Charlson comorbidity index was 2.18 (SD: 1.32). 110 patients were diagnosed with frailty (38.33%). There were significant differences in age, age group, and BMI classification between those with and without frailty. BMI classification and living alone were significantly associated with frailty.
