Mucolipidosis típ II (MLII) thuộc nhóm bệnh rối loạn tích tụ lysosome hiếm gặp, do đột biến gen GNPTAB nằm trên nhiễm sắc thể 12q23.2 gây ra. Nghiên cứu của chúng tôi được thực hiện nhằm mô tả các đặc điểm lâm sàng, cận lâm sàng và biến thể di truyền trên trẻ mắc MLII được chẩn đoán tại bệnh viện Nhi Trung ương. Qua khảo sát cho thấy 100% trẻ biểu hiện các triệu chứng điển hình bao gồm: tầm vóc rất thấp, bộ mặt thô, hạn chế vận động khớp, nhiễm trùng hô hấp tái phát; một số trường hợp ghi nhận biến chứng tim mạch và thoát vị. Các xét nghiệm cho thấy sự gia tăng nồng độ enzyme trong huyết thanh và glycosaminoglycan (GAGs) trong nước tiểu trên các trẻ được khảo sát. Nghiên cứu khẳng định giá trị của việc kết hợp triệu chứng lâm sàng điển hình và xét nghiệm di truyền trong chẩn đoán xác định MLII. Việc phát hiện các biến thể mới góp phần làm phong phú dữ liệu di truyền học và hỗ trợ tư vấn di truyền, chẩn đoán trước sinh cho các gia đình có nguy cơ.
