Virus BK và bệnh thận liên quan đến BK virus là một trong các nguyên nhân dẫn đến suy giảm chức năng thận trên bệnh nhân ghép thận. Tuy nhiên, trên lâm sàng việc theo dõi và phát hiện tình trạng nhiễm BK virus còn nhiều khó khăn. Nghiên cứu có mục tiêu mô tả đặc điểm trên lâm sàng của tình trạng nhiễm BK virus của bệnh nhân sau ghép thận tại Bệnh viện Bạch Mai từ tháng 1/2018 đến tháng 6/2022, và đánh giá một số yếu tố liên quan, sử dụng phương pháp nghiên cứu mô tả cắt ngang có hồi cứu thông tin. Trong số 81 bệnh nhân nghiên cứu, có 31 bệnh nhân có tình trạng nhiễm BK virus (38,3%). Trong đó, có 20 bệnh nhân nhiễm BK virus niệu đơn thuần (24,7%) và 11 bệnh nhân nhiễm BK virus máu (14,6%). Có 4 (trên tổng 28) bệnh nhân có kết quả sinh thiết thận là bệnh thận BK virus. Tình trạng nhiễm BK virus có liên quan đến việc sử dụng Tacrolimus liều trên 7 ng/ml, mức lọc cầu thận thấp và tình trạng mất chức năng thận ghép của bệnh nhân nghiên cứu.
