Thoracic endovascular aortic repair for acute type B aortic dissection

Abstract
Acute aortic dissection is a life - threatening condition with high mortality. Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair (Tevar) is a minimally invasive procedure. We conducted this study to examine the impact of Tevar in complication of acute aortic dissection. This is an interventional study enrolling 96 patients with a Mean age of 59 ± 10. Successful rate was 97,9%. After a median follow - up time of 30 months, the survival rate was 91.97%. Factors associated with death after Tevar was rupture aortic dissection (HR = 4.46 p = 0.03). Tevar resulted in significant expansion in the true lumen (pre - Tevar 19.4 ± 4.3 mm vs post - Tevar 24 ± 5.4 mm, p < 0.05). False lumen significantly decreased (pre - Tevar 37.1 ± 11.4 mm vs post - Tevar 26.5 ± 13.1 mm p < 0.05). Tevar for acute complicated type B aortic dissection has a high survival rate and has positive evidence of remodeling improvement.
