Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate the protective effect of Da day Tue Tinh hard capsules on cysteamine-induced gastric-duodenal ulcer in experimental rats. The animals were divided into 5 groups: Group 1 (control) and group 2 (model) were treated by distill water, group 3 (esomeprazol 10 mg/kg), group 4 (DDTT 0.252 g/kg) and group 5 (DDTT 0.756 g/kg). All of rats were treated for 7 consecutive days. On day 7, peptic-duodenal ulcers were induced in rats by oral cysteamine 400 mg/kg. The number of rats with ulcer, the number of ulcers per one rat and ulcer index of each group were estimated. The results showed that cysteamine caused peptic ulcer in 100% of rats. DDTT at two doses tends to reduce the number of ulcer, the ulcer index, reduced levels of severity of gastric-duodenal ulcer's rats when compared with model group. Conclusively, Da day Tue Tinh hard capsules tends to have unti-ulcer effect on cysteamine-induced gastric-duodenal ulcer in experimental animals.
