Abstract

The current study designed to investigate the anticoagulant effect of Huyet phu truc u hoan in lipopolysaccharide-induced coagulation Wistar rat model. The drug test (0.72 pill/kg per day) and rivaroxaban (3 mg/kg/per day) were orally administered for 7 days before lipopolysaccharide injection. Then, the lipopolysaccharide at the dose of 3 mg/kg was injected via the tail vein in the treatment groups. Blood was withdrawn 4 hours after lipopolysaccharide administration. Platelet count, plasma fibrinogen, prothrombin time (PT), activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT) were measured. The results obtained that pretreatment with Huyet phu truc u hoan increased platelet count and fibrinogen concentration. Huyet phu truc u hoan hoan also prolonged PT and aPTT when compared to the normal control group. In conclusion, the present study demonstrated that Huyet phu truc u hoan exerted the anticoagulant effect in lipopolysaccharide-induced coagulation Wistar rat model.
