Abstract

The study is intended to evaluate the diagnosis performance of multi-sequence computed tomography in determining resectability of pancreatic head adenocarcinoma, especially in resection margin status. Among the various imaging-based resectability criteria  those proposed by the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) are the most widely used and serve to classify pancreatic cancer as resectable, borderline resectable, or unresectable. We selected 105 patients who underwent an abdominal MSCT scan at the Vietnam-Germany Hospital from 1/2020 to 8/2022. Results:  tumor size (< 4cm) were significantly associated with margin-negative resection with OR = 7.58 (95%CI: 3.12 – 18.42, p < 0.001). Invasion of arteries and veins were significantly associated with margin-negative resection (p < 0.001). R0 resection rates were 75% (43/57), 6% (3 of 48), for resectable or borderline resectable, and unresectable disease, respectively (p < 0.001).
