22. Lengthening short renal vein using gonadal vein in living donor kidney transplantation in Viet Duc Hospital
Main Article Content
Abstract
We conducted a retrospective study of 28 cases transplanted with right kidney from living donor used gonadal vein to reconstructed and lengthened short renal vein in Viet Duc hospital from 4/2019 to 04/2022. 25 cases used gonadal vein of kidney living donor and 3 cases used cryopreserved gonadal vein of brain death donor in our tissue bank. The additional length of the renal vein was 16.2 ± 3.3mm. The average of cold ischemic time was 60 ± 8.1 minutes, the time of renal vein lengthening was 20.4 ± 5.5 minutes. The average of warm ischemic time was 38.1 ± 5.6 minutes. The function of grafted kidney was normal in all cases, there was no post transplant vascular and uriteral complications. The average of hospital stay was 15.3 ± 3.0 days, The average of following-up time was 30.9 ± 6.3 months. Using gonadal vein to lengthen short renal vein in living donor kidney transplation is a safe and effective technique.
