27. Application of low - level Laser therapy and Led in supporting the treatment of moderate Covid-19 patients

Abstract

The objective was to evaluate the application of low-level laser therapy and LED in supporting the treatment of moderate COVID patients.eThis is a cross-sectional descriptive study, where data were collected prospectively at the Hospital for the treatment of COVID-19 patients from October 2021 to October 2022. The patients received standard treatment combined with Laser-LED therapy daily and were monitored until discharged from the hospital. The study was conducted on 28 patients, the patients mean age was 59.6 ± 15.0, 42.9% was not vaccinateds and the rate of comorbidities disease accounted for 64.3%. On admission, 57.1% had respiratory failure requiring oxygen support with an average lung injury of 5.7 ± 2.8 and 25% met the criteria for a cytokine storm. The duration of laser-LED therapy was 8 days, the mean hospital stay was 9 days, and there was no severe transfe nor death. All moderate COVID-19 patients received standard treatment combined with laser-LED therapy without severe transformation, recovered without any adverse effects recorded.
