Abstract

This study is conducted to identify the rate of healthcare workers infected/suspected with COVID-19 while involving in COVID-19 prevention in 7 provinces and 3 universities of Vietnam in 2021 - 2022 and associated factors. The finding is 76.7% (703/917) healthcare workers participating in COVID-19 prevention in 2021 - 2022 have been infected/suspected with COVID-19. The rate of COVID-19 infected/suspected cases among healthcare workers was different between the age groups and gender; females were more frequently infected/suspected than males (p value < 0.05). Most healthcare workers (410/703; 58.3%) were infected/suspected with COVID-19 when participating in the activities of COVID-19 prevention in their current workplaces. Among  working professionals, nursing counted for the highest rate of COVID-19 infection (41.7%) (p value < 0.05). In general, the rate of vaccination against COVID-19 among health workers reached a high level and there was a statistically significant difference of the rate of health workers infected/suspected with COVID-19 among the group that have not get vaccinated and others.
