Abstract

This is a cross-sectional study of 20 patients aged from 2.5 month-old to 12.5years-old diagnosed with HIV-1 infection at National Children’s Hospital from year 2014 to 2017. The results show that the cell count and percentage of TCD4 lymphocyte of peripheral blood and the CD4/CD8 decreased. The cell count of TCD4 lymphocytes and the subsets as Th1, Th2, and Th17 were also decreased while the Treg cell count was in the normal range. The cell count and percentage of TCD8 lymphocytes and active TCD8 peripheral blood lymphocytes increased. The cell count of all TCD4 lymphocytes and the subsets of TCD8 lymphocytes were inversely correlated with diagnosis age. There was no difference in the cell count of TCD4 lymphocytes and the subsets of TCD8 lymphocytes between male and female HIV-1 infected patients.
