5. Treatment of plantar warts and palmar warts by laser CO2 at Thuan Chau General Hospital, Son La Province

Abstract
This is a self-comparative study before and after treatment on 40 patients diagnosed with plantar warts and palmar warts treated at Thuan Chau General Hospital, Son La Province from Mar to December 2022. Results showed that 60% of patients had plantar warts and 40% had palmar warts with the mean of lesions was 3.48 ± 6.61. 72.5% of the lesions were in the pressure area the depth was 77.5%, mean of lesion size was 5.83 ± 2.37mm. Pain was most common at 82.5% and itchiness at 32.5%. The cure rate right at the first time was 95%, the cure rate was good at 95%. Common clinical side effects were itchy (10%), swelling (10%), there was no infection nor ulcer. We conclude that treatment of warts by laser CO2 is safe and effective.
