Abstract

The objective of the study was to evaluate treatment results and identify factors affecting mRS 0-2 and mortality after 90 days at 8 stroke centers/units/departments in the North of Vietnam. This is a cross-sectional descriptive study on 1303 patients from August 1, 2022, to August 31, 2022, diagnosed with acute ischemic strokes at 8 treatment units across the North. The number of hospitalized patients at Bach Mai Hospital's Stroke Center accounted for the largest proportion with 42.9%, the median NIHSS (quartile) 7 (4 – 11), in which the average NIHSS group rate (5 – 14) score) and severe (15 – 25 points) are 59.7% and 12.3%, respectively. ASPECTS score below 6 accounts for a high rate of 46.8%. The total thrombolysis rate accounted for 8.4% of the total 1303 hospitalized patients, in which the median needle time (interquartile) in minutes was 35.0 (26.5 – 45.0). Patients with no history of atrial fibrillation, dyslipidemia, low NIHSS score, and low ASPECTS were statistically significant influencing factors with mRS 0-2 at 90 days. Meanwhile, high NIHSS and ASPECTS scores were statistically significantly associated with 90th-day mortality.
