Abstract

A cross-sectional study was conducted in HaNoi and Ho Chi Minh city in 2018 to describe the HPV prevalence and ThinPrep Pap test results among 700 female sex workers. The results showed that 26.4% of female sex workers infected with HPV and 13.6% of them had abnormal ThinPrep Pap test results. Female sex workers who had a history of gynecology abnormality had 1.8 times higher abnormal ThinPrep Pap test results than those without the history. HPV prevalence and abnormal ThinPrep Pap test results among female sex workers were at high level. Education about HPV and ThinPrep Pap test application should be tailored for each target group, especially those with a history of gynecology.
