Abstract

The study was carried out from March 2022 and June 2023 at the Department of Endodontics, Hanoi Central Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology; 32 patients were evaluated for clinical and subclinical characteristics of odntogenic maxillary sinusitis. We found that facial pain accounted for 90.6%, pain in the maxillary teeth on the same side accounted for 90.6%. Partial opacity of the ipsilateral maxillary sinus accounted for 62.5%, periapical inflammation pictures accounted for 87.5%, image of bone loss around the apex accounted for 84.4%. So odontogenic maxillary sinusitis has two highly suggestive symptoms, which are pain in the face and pain in the maxillary teeth on the same side. On Conebeam Computed Tomography, it is necessary to detect important signs leading to the cause of dental sinusitis, such as opacity of the ipsilateral maxillary sinus and periodontitis, bone loss around the apex. Conebeam Computed Tomography is valuable for diagnosing maxillary sinus lesions and assessing in detail asteeth lession, helping to plan a combination of sinus and dental treatment.
