26. Physical function in patients with post-acute Covid-19

Abstract

COVID-19 patients often experience persistent symptoms. Therefore, a comprehensive assessment of physical function in individuals with post-acute COVID-19 is needed. The study aimed to describe these persistent symptoms and their impact in 549 post-acute COVID-19 patients examined at the Tropical Diseases Department - Hanoi Medical University Hospital between February and April 2022. The most common persistent symptoms were fatigue (60.1%); cough (58.7%); chest pain (34.8%); dyspnoea (33.8%); sleep disorders (30.2%), and palpitations (22%). There were 273 patients (49.7%) experienced an impact on their physical function. Of these, 21.3% were affected at a moderate level or higher. In conclusion, COVID-19 has long-term effects on the patient's physical, mental and physical function.
