Abstract

This study aimed to assess the quality of life and identify factors related to the quality of life among HIV-positive men who have sex with men (MSM) receiving antiretroviral therapy (ARV) at outpatient clinics in Hanoi in 2022. A total of 212 MSM undergoing ARV treatment were enrolled in the study. Quality of life was measured in six domains using the WHOQOL-HIV BREF tool. The average quality of life score was 13.79 ± 2.02, with the physical health domain having the highest average score at 14.40 ± 2.45 and the social relationships domain having the lowest average score at 12.93 ± 2.55. Negative factors such as anxiety, depression, stigma, unstable employment, and opportunistic infections significantly impacted the quality of life in HIV-positive MSM. This study highlight the specific domains of quality of life that may warrant targeted intervention to improve the overall well-being of this population.
