Abstract

To determine the clinical factors affecting the length of hospital stay in patients with chronic subdural hematoma (CSDH) treated by burr hole surgery, we conducted a study on 47 patients at the Neurosurgery Center of Viet Duc University Hospital from August 2022 to July 2023. The patients' mean age was 57.55 years; The average hospital stay was 7.5 ± 5.4 days. Four factors prolonging hospital stay was identified, including: (1) female (15.16 days compared to 6.38 days); (2) over 70 years of age (10.9 days vs. 6.54 days); (3) history of anticoagulant drugs (11.85 days vs. 6.7 days); and (4) history of hypertension (10.9 days vs. 6.54 days).
