Abstract

A cross-sectional study was conducted on 83 pediatric patients diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) at the Pediatric Center of Bach Mai Hospital from January 2021 to December 2023 to compare the sensitivity of the EULAR/ACR 2019, SLICC 2012, and ACR 1997 classification criteria and various related factors in diagnosing pediatric SLE. The sensitivity of the EULAR/ACR 2019, SLICC 2012, and ACR 1997 classification criteria in diagnosing lupus in the study group were 100%, 95.2%, and 65.1% respectively. The sensitivity of the ACR 1997 classification criteria in patients with ≥ 2 clinical manifestations (75.7%), hematological manifestations (78.9%), mucocutaneous manifestations (90.2%), serositis (94.4%), and renal involvement (83.0%) was higher compared to those with only 1 clinical manifestation (7.7%), no hematological abnormalities (53.3%), no mucocutaneous manifestations (40.5%), no serositis (56.9%) and no renal involvement (33.3%). The differences were statistically significant, p < 0.05.
