Abstract

The EULAR/ACR 2019 is the new classification criteria for systemic lupus erythematosus with a threshold of ≥ 10 points. This cross-sectional study on 83 children newly diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus at the Pediatric Center of Bach Mai Hospital was conducted to describe the clinical and immunological characteristics of the disease according to EULAR/ACR 2019 classification criteria. Clinical manifestations: renal domain 63.9%, fever 50.6%, mucocutaneous domain 49.4%, hematologic domain 45.8%, musculoskeletal domain 27.7%, serosal domain 21.7%, neuropsychiatric domain 7.2%. Immunological characteristics: antinuclear antibodies are the entry standard, positive in 100% of cases. The positive rates of anti-dsDNA antibodies, anti-Sm antibodies and anti-phospholipid antibodies were 95.2%, 43.4% and 28.9%, respectively. Complement levels were reduced in 90.4% of cases. 2/3 cases had a total clinical and immunological score ≥ 20 points, average 24.1 ± 7.4 points.
