5. The outcomes of oocyte vitrification in patients undergoing IVF at Hanoi Medical University Hospital

Abstract

A retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted at the IVF center of Hanoi Medical University Hospital from June 2021 to January 2024 in patients who had vitrified – thawed oocyte to evaluate the survival rate of oocyte vitrification, fertilization rate, embryo formation rate and the number of day 2 embryos. A total of 419 vitrified oocytes from 100 patients were thawed. The survival rate, fertilization rate and embryo formation rate of frozen oocytes were 91.99%, 81% and 72.7%, respectively. The average number of day 2 embryos was 2.95 ± 2.42. There were no statistically difference in fertilization rate, embryo formation rate and number of day 2 embryos between frozen and fresh oocyte in patients having oocyte accumulation. The results of this study initially showed that oocyte vitrification was effective in in-vitro fertilization.
