Abstract

The present study evaluated the healing effects of topical administration of Dau dua Lao nha que on thermal burns in Wistar rats. Thermal burns were induced on the dorsal region of rats using a standard metal tool. Following the burn induction, the affected areas were covered with silver sulfadiazine or Dau dua Lao nha que twice a day for 21 days. The results indicated that treatment with Dau dua Lao nha que 0.2ml twice a day and 0.4ml twice a day significantly reduced the size of the wounded area, increased the hydroxyproline content in animals’ skin tissues, and improved the macroscopic images and histopathological structure of skin tissues. In conclusion, the topical application of Dau dua Lao nha que exerted healing effects on the burned skin.
