Willingness to Care for the Elderly Among Nursing Students at Dai Nam University
Main Article Content
Abstract
The increasing proportion of elderly individuals and their healthcare needs in Vietnam necessitate a quality nursing workforce ready to work in this field. However, the number of studies on the readiness of nursing students to care for the elderly remains limited, leading to a lack of practical insight and effective support methods for nursing students. A cross-sectional study involving 252 students revealed a high level of readiness to work in elderly healthcare, with an average score of 3.63 ± 0.77. Factors related to the readiness of nursing students at Dai Nam University to care for the elderly include gender, knowledge of the elderly, attitudes towards the elderly, and the desire to live with their parents or parents-in-law in the future.
