Wound healing effect of topical EXI BEAUTY cream in experimental animals

Abstract

This study investigated the wound-healing effects of EXI BEAUTY cream on skin injury in Wistar rats and their systemic toxicity. The rats were subjected to skin injury and topically treated with either Contractubex cream at 0.4 g/day or EXI BEAUTY cream at 0.2 or 0.4 ml/day for ten consecutive days. The results indicated that EXI BEAUTY cream significantly accelerated wound healing in rats. EXI BEAUTY cream significantly reduced the wound size, increased the hydroxyproline content in animals' skin, and improved the histopathological structure of the affected tissues. Additionally, EXI BEAUTY cream was deemed not to exert any systemic toxicity to the wounded animals by not influencing considerably the general condition, hematological parameters, renal and hepatic functions, and altering the histology of the liver and kidney after the ten-day treatment period. Thus, EXI BEAUTY cream stimulated wound healing by reducing the wound size, increasing the hydroxyproline content, and improving the histopathology of the damaged skin compared to the model group. Additionally, EXI BEAUTY cream did not cause systemic toxicity in wounded animals.
