Evaluation of quality indicators in the pre-analytical at Hanoi Medical University Hospital
Main Article Content
Abstract
The quality indicators (QIs) for the pre-analytical phase based on IFCC and WGLEPS standards include 16 indicators. Our study was conducted by analyzing these 16 indicators at the Laboratory Department of Hanoi Medical University Hospital from July 2023 to December 2023. Out of a total of 299,720 test samples, 631 samples had errors, accounting for 0.21%. The most common error was hemolyzed samples (QI-10) with 403 samples, accounting for 0.13%. Other errors, such as insufficient sample volume (QI-12) and inappropriate sample-anticoagulant ratio (QI-13), each accounted for 0.04%. The results show that the error rate in the pre-analytical phase at this hospital is lower compared to many other studies. The study concludes that error control in the pre-analytical phase at Hanoi Medical University Hospital is quite effective, contributing to ensuring the quality of tests and the reliability of diagnostic results.
