Abstract

Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) is a method of using high - frequency alternating current that generates heat to destroy cancer tumor. Damage to tissue depends on the temperature and time of the procedure. This study was conducted to assess the clinical outcomes of 45 non - small cell lung cancer patients (NSC LC) treated with RFA under 2013 CT guidance. The median age of the study patient was 66.0 ± 3.3 (47 - 85), the sex ratio was 2.7: 1. The majority of patients (47.7%) had tumors of less than 30 mm in diameter. The average of progression - free survival (PFS) is 18 months and the average of overall survival (OS) is 27 months. In conclusion, overall survival depends on the stage of NSCLC. Our data suggest that treating NSCLC with RFA method using robotic - assisted CT guidance system is an effective and less complicated method that can significantly improve overall survival.
