Factors related to changes in intraocular pressure after ReLEX SMILE surgery in patients with thick cornea thickness
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study evaluates factors related to intraocular pressure changes after ReLEX SMILE surgery in patients with thick corneal thickness. This prospective, clinically descriptive study with no control group was conducted on 40 eyes of 20 myopia – astigmatism patients treated by the ReLEX SMILE method in Vietnam National Institute of Ophthalmology from March 2020 to October 2020. The intraocular pressure before surgery was 16.35 ± 2.53mmHg, at 3 months post surgery, the pressure decreased to 10.5 ± 2.1mmHg. The difference in intraocular pressure between 1 month compared to before surgery was significant with p < 0.001. The average IOP decrease after surgery was 6.3 ± 2.3mmHg. The higher the preoperative equivalent spherical equivalent, the lower the average postoperative intraocular pressure and each has a relatively close positive correlation with each other.
