Abstract

This study evaluated clinical morphology, radiographic characteristics of lower wisdom teeth of patients who visited the Department of Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery, Ha Dong General Hospital from November 2023 to April 2024. 115 mandibular wisdom teeth were examined at the hospital with inclusion and exclusion criteria. The study design was a cross-sectional with a purposeful convenience sampling method. Dental examination was conducted including interpretation of X-ray assessing the growth status and mandibular wisdom tooth position, position of depth of mandibular wisdom tooth relative to 2nd molars, mandibular wisdom tooth position correlation with jaw width. The results showed wisdom teeth in the mandible deviate up to 42.6%, the mandibular wisdom tooth in position A (68.7%) is much higher than the two positions B (28.7%) and position C (2.6%). The bone width type II is the highest rate (81.7%).
