Main Article Content
Abstract
This cross-sectional study was conducted to describe the clinical and subclinical characteristics of 99 children with Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia, aged under 15 years old, treated at the Hanoi Medical University Hospital from June 2023 to December 2024. Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia was commonly found in children aged between 24 to under 60 months old (47.5%). The clinical manifestations included cough (100%), fever (67.7%), wheezing (31.3%), and lung auscultation rales (84.8%). Respiratory failure showed in 7.1% of Mycoplasma pneumonia pneumonia. The chest X-ray findings were lobar consolidation (39.4%) and hilar adenopathy (43.4%). Pleural effusion was less common in Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia cases (5.1%). Blood tests indicated normal white blood cell counts and increased CRPhs levels.
