Abstract

This study aimed to describe the quality of sleep and associated factors among people aged 15 - 30 years old in 2024. A cross-sectional study design was conducted on 1302 people aged 15 - 30 years old in Binh Minh town, Vinh Long province, in which sleep quality was assessed using the the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index. Our results showed that the proportion of poor sleep quality was 17.5% with the following influencing factors: age group (p < 0.001), gender (p = 0.036), physical activity (p < 0.001), depression (p < 0.001), anxiety (p < 0.001) and self-assessment of health (p < 0.001). Therefore, it is necessary to combine scales and devices in assessing sleep quality in many aspects, combined with additional screening for other mental health problems such as stress, thereby having an appropriate general strategy to control and improve sleep quality and individuals need to practice healthy habits and behaviors.
