37. Thực trạng sức khoẻ tâm thần của nhân viên y tế tham gia phòng chống dịch COVID-19 tại Bình Dương và Kiên Giang

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused significant physical and mental health consequences for healthcare workers worldwide, including in Vietnam. This study aimed to describe the current status of mental health among healthcare workers (HCWs) directly involved in COVID-19 prevention and control in Binh Duong and Kien Giang provinces in 2022. Study design: A cross-sectional descriptive study. Among 194 HCWs who participated in the study, 55% had contracted COVID-19 once, 16% had been infected twice, and 6% had been infected three times. In 2021, up to 79.7% of HCWs were worried that the COVID-19 pandemic would not be controlled, but by 2022, this figure had decreased to 23.5%. According to the Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) assessment scale, 11% of HCWs showed signs of PTSD and required medical attention; 8% had severe or very severe stress symptoms. The results indicate that anxiety and the prevalence of PTSD among HCWs remain relatively high, highlighting the need for support measures and mental health care for HCWs involved in pandemic prevention and control in the future.
