Abstract

Sleep disorders are highly prevalent among children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), significantly affecting treatment outcomes and quality of life. The Children’s Sleep Habits Questionnaire (CSHQ) is a widely used screening tool globally; however, a fully validated Vietnamese version has not been available. This study aimed to culturally adapt and evaluate the reliability of the Vietnamese version of the CSHQ (CSHQ-V) in a sample of 115 children with ADHD aged 4 to 12 years old. Internal consistency was assessed using Cronbach’s alpha (0.78), and test-retest reliability was evaluated using the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC = 0.89). Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) identified five principal factors, explaining 64% of the total variance. Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) analysis determined an optimal cutoff score of 41, with a sensitivity of 99% and a specificity of 80%. The findings indicate that the CSHQ-V is a reliable and valid screening tool for sleep problems in children with ADHD in Vietnam.
