20. Factors associated with the outcomes of intravenous oxytocin- induced labor in full-term pregnancies
Main Article Content
Abstract
Intravenous Oxytocin-Induced Labor is initiated and controlled by an obstetrician using intravenous oxytocin to control contractions to induce labor. This study investigates several factors related to the outcomes of intravenous oxytocin-induced labor in full-term pregnancies at Hospital A in Thai Nguyen. The study group included 220 women with singleton, cephalic-presenting fetuses, gestational age from 37 weeks or greater at the Obstetrics Department of Hospital A, Thai Nguyen, from August 2023 to March 2024. The average maternal age was 27 ± 5.19 yearsold, and the mean gestational age was 38 weeks 6 days. Among 220 pregnant women, 50.5% had a Bishop index > 6 points, Vaginal delivery occurred in 82.7%, while cesarean section accounted for 17.3%. The mean duration of oxytocin infusion monitoring was 3.3 ± 1.32 hours. The outcomes of intravenous oxytocin-induced labor were found to be statistically significantly associated with the Bishop score, fetal weight, infusion duration, and parity (p < 0.05).
