Abstract

Bladder cancer, a common cancer, especially in men and the elderly, has high risk of recurrence and greatly affects the patient's quality of life (QoL). Transurethral resection of bladder tumor (TURBT) is a mainly treatment method for non muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC). This study used 2 questionaires, EORTC QLQ-C30 and EORTC QLQ-NMIBC24, to evaluate the health related to quality of life (HRQoL) in 92 bladder cancer patients and analyse the relationship between HRQoL and other factors such as sociological and clinical characteristics. The results showed that the common QoL average score is 58.06 ± 15.84. Age, recurrence, urinary symptoms and financing difficulties significantly affected the patient's QoL. Conclusion: The quality of life score of NMIBC patients after TURBT was moderate (58.06 ± 15.84) and influenced by age, tumor recurrence, urinary symptoms, financial burden, and anxiety about the future. To improve the quality of life of this patient group, comprehensive multidisciplinary care strategies on medical, psychological, social, and financial support are very important.
