Evaluation of the results of simple shoulder periarthritis treatment with autologous platelet-rich plasma at Vietlife Clinic
Main Article Content
Abstract
Autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a biological treatment that is increasingly widely used in sport medicine and rehabilitation, especially in treatment of simple periarthritis shoulder. This longitudinal intervention study was conducted to evaluate the treatment results of periarthritis shoulder 4 months post-injection of autologous platelet-rich plasma. 31 patients, diagnosed with periarthritis shoulder were treated with autologous platelet-rich plasma injection. After 4 months, the average VAS score decreased from 5.6 to 2.6, accompanied by improvement symptoms on ultrasound. The reduction in VAS score was greater in young patients. The common side effect was pain at injection sites and usually resolved within 3 days. We concluded that autologous platelet-rich plasma injection is a safe and effective treatment for periarthritis shoulder, especially in young people.
