Main Article Content
Abstract
A study was performed to evaluate the seroprevalence of diphtheria antibodies among the population of Kon Tum city, Kon Tum province by ELISA ( enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) to quantity serum diphtheria antibodies. The results showed that in a total of 662 children, 33.1% were unprotected, 6.3% had basic protection, and 60.6% had full protection. The full protection level of girls (63.6) was significantly higher than boys (57.5%). The full protection level found in children aged 0-5 was 62.6%, then decreased in older aged groups. The results are scientific to propose compulsory immunizations programs suitable interventional methods for controlling and preventing of diphtheria in Kon Tum province and Tay Nguyen region in the future.
