Abstract

This study aimed to describe key factors influencing the choice of dental care facilities. A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted among 400 students using a self-administered questionnaire with a 5-point Likert scale. Data were analyzed using Stata 16, applying Chi-square and T-test, with statistical significance set at p < 0.05. Results indicated that dentist qualifications, clinic facilities, and service quality were the most prominent factors affecting students’ choices of dental care providers. Additionally, students with a history of dental visits were more likely to choose private clinics. Notably, payment method was the only factor showing a statistically significant difference between public and private clinics. Similarly, advertising methods demonstrated a difference between those who had and had not previously visited a dental specialist. Furthermore, social media played a considerable role in shaping students’ decisions regarding dental care facilities. These findings suggest that beyond clinical expertise, the convenience of service, especially in terms of payment and communication, plays an increasingly important role in the decision-making process of medically informed young people.
