Main Article Content
Abstract
This cross-sectional study aimed to describe the prevalence of dating violence (DV) among students at Hanoi Medical University in 2025. The CADRI-S, a self-reported questionnaire with 20 items, was utilized and translated into Vietnamese, to survey 962 students selected through a multi-stage stratified sampling method. Findings revealed that 52.91% of participants had perpetrated and 43.24% had experienced at least one form of DV. Common forms of DV included physical assault, threats, sexual abuse, emotional/verbal abuse, and controlling behaviors within romantic relationships. Among perpetrators, female students accounted for the majority of physical violence cases (83.51%), whereas sexual abuse was predominantly committed by males (59.38%). The results underscore the high prevalence of DV among this student population and highlight the need for targeted educational interventions to raise awareness and prevent violence in intimate relationships.
