Abstract

This study aimed to describe the characteristics of dentinogenesis imperfecta (DI) in patients with osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) at the National Children's Hospital. A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 98 OI patients aged 2 – 19 years old from 2018 to 2023. DI was diagnosed based on clinical signs and radiographic findings. The prevalence of DI was 45.9%, observed exclusively in patients with OI type III (54.3%) and type IV (46.7%). DI was more common in primary teeth (48.6%) than in permanent teeth (40.8%) and generally more severe. The lower incisors were the most severely affected teeth. In summary, DI was present in 45.9% of OI cases, primarily in severe forms (types III and IV), with more severe involvement in primary teeth and a predominance in lower incisors.
