35. Motor function recovery effects of auricular acupuncture combined with electroacupuncture and acupressure massage in post-acute ischemic stroke patients
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aimed to evaluate the effects of auricular acupuncture combined with electroacupuncture and acupressure massage on motor function recovery in patients with ischemic stroke during the post-acute phase. A controlled clinical intervention was conducted on 70 patients, randomly allocated into two groups: the intervention group received auricular acupuncture in combination with electroacupuncture and acupressure massage, while the control group was treated with electroacupuncture and acupressure massage alone for 30 days. Motor function was assessed using the Fugl-Meyer Assessment for the Upper Extremity (FMA-UE), the Fugl-Meyer Assessment for the Lower Extremity (FMA-LE), and the total Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA). After 15 and 30 days of treatment, the intervention group demonstrated significantly greater improvements compared with the control group across all FMA scores (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Auricular acupuncture combined with electroacupuncture and acupressure massage is more effective in promoting motor function recovery in post-acute ischemic stroke patients compared with electroacupuncture and acupressure massage alone.
