Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the level of satisfaction and identify factors associated with maternal satisfaction in parturients receiving epidural analgesia during labor. A descriptive cross-sectional analytical study was conducted from January to June 2025, involving 260 parturients at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology – Hanoi Medical University Hospital. Data were collected using an 18-item Likert-scale questionnaire. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were performed to identify related factors. Results showed that 88.8% of parturients reported satisfaction with epidural labor analgesia. A waiting time of ≤ 30 minutes to receive the intervention was significantly associated with increased satisfaction (OR = 18.65, p < 0.001). Furthermore, receiving antenatal counseling and perceived support during labor were also positively associated with satisfaction (OR = 5.97 – 10.84, p < 0.01). In conclusion, epidural analgesia demonstrated a high level of maternal satisfaction. Influencing factors include the timeliness of the intervention, antenatal knowledge received, and the perceived support and care during labor.
