Knowledge, attitude and practice on tuberculosis prevention among residents of Dai Tu, and Thai Nguyen in 2025

Abstract
A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted to research on knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding tuberculosis prevention among residents of Dai Tu and Thai Nguyen provinces. Related factors were also analyzed based on the results of the study. Data was collected through direct interviews using a pre-designed questionnaire with a random sample of 500 residents in Tan Linh and Thuong Ha communes. Good knowledge about TB among residents remained low, at only 19.2%, while good attitude reached 90.8%. However, the rate of good TB prevention practices was very low (29.2%). A statistically significant association was found between TB prevention practices and age, educational level, occupation, knowledge, and attitude (p < 0.05). These results highlight TB as a health concern in this population and underscore the urgent need for health education programs to improve the effectiveness of TB prevention in the community.
