Abstract

A global shortage of approximately 5.9 million nurses, including in Southeast Asia, highlights the need for countries to support nursing graduates in sustaining a professional nursing workforce. The learning environment of nursing student has received increasing attention from educators in response to future healthcare demands. A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted among 193 nursing students at the Thanh Hoa Campus of Hanoi Medical University using a structured questionnaire to evaluate their perceptions of the learning environment. The findings indicated that students rated their overall learning environment at a high level. The faculty domain scored the highest, while other domains-including teaching, learning, and social self-perception - also received positive results, highlighting the effectiveness of a student-centered educational model. Perceptions of the learning environment differed by academic year, with fourth-year students reporting lower evaluations than second- and third-year students; this difference may be associated with curricular characteristics across different stages of training.
