Knowledge and lifestyle practices regarding hypertension prevention and control among residents in Hanoi

Abstract
This study aims to describe the status and associated factors of knowledge and lifestyle practices for hypertension prevention and control among 18 - 69 years old adults in Hanoi in 2023. This cross-sectional descriptive study included 516 residents. The results showed that 52.5% had very low level knowledge, and only 3.3% achieved a good score. Regarding lifestyle practices, 27.1% had a good practice score. Females were 2.3 times more likely to have good practices than males (95% CI: 1.5 – 3.6), and individuals with a high school education or higher was 1.7 times more likely to have good practices compared to the lower educated group (95% CI: 1.1 – 2.8). The study emphasizes the need to promote personalized communication interventions, specifically focusing on males and individuals with lower education levels.
