Abstract

Analyzing students’ feedback on the One-Minute Preceptor (OMP) teaching method provides an important basis for refining and improving this instructional approach. A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted among 232 fourth- to sixth-year medical students at the Hanoi Medical University Thanh Hóa campus who provided feedback on the OMP method. The findings indicated that students had a positive perception of the OMP method, with agreement and strong agreement rates ranging from 59.9% to 70.7%. Students identified several factors that may influence the effectiveness of OMP, including limited learning time, inadequate clinical training conditions, instructors’ incomplete adherence to the OMP framework, and learners’ passivity. In addition, students suggested increasing the number of sessions, extending learning time, and increasing the number of clinical cases per session. Overall, the OMP method was well received by students and demonstrated feasibility in clinical teaching. Improving implementation conditions and standardizing the method’s application may enhance the effectiveness of clinical training.
