Abstract

Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination is a proactive and highly effective primary prevention strategy against HPV-related diseases in females, most notably cervical cancer. A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted among 874 female students at Hanoi Medical University and Bach Mai Medical College in 2025. The study aimed to describe the status of HPV vaccination and identify associated factors using a structured, self-administered questionnaire. Results: The findings indicated that 35.8% of the students had received at least one dose of the HPV vaccine, while the completion rate for the full three-dose series was 27.9%. Multivariable regression analysis demonstrated that factors significantly associated with complete three-dose vaccination practice included: sophomore or higher academic level, holding adequate knowledge about the vaccination, and maintaining a positive attitude toward the vaccine. The results highlight an urgent need for targeted interventions to improve HPV vaccination practices among female medical students-the future healthcare workforce.
