Prognostic value of the semi-quantitative renal perfusion score on doppler ultrasound for persistent acute kidney injury (PKI)
Main Article Content
Abstract
This longitudinal study included 58 patients with septic shock due to peritonitis at the Surgical Intensive Care Unit of Bach Mai Hospital. The objective of this study was to evaluate the prognostic value of the semi-quantitative power Doppler ultrasound (PDU) score for persistent acute kidney injury (AKI). The results indicated an incidence of persistent AKI of 34.5%. Findings showed that patients with PDU grades 0-1 had a 2.56-fold higher risk of persistent AKI compared to those with PDU grades 2-3 (PR = 2.56; 95% CI: 1.24 – 5.37). The predictive performance of the PDU score for persistent AKI demonstrated an AUC of 0.82, with a specificity of 90% and a sensitivity of 55% at a cutoff value of PDU score ≤ 1. The PDU score serves as a potential bedside tool for identifying patients at high risk for persistent AKI; however, it should be integrated with other parameters to enhance diagnostic efficacy.
