Abstract

This retrospective case series study aimed to evaluate the surgical outcomes for laryngeal cancer treatment at Thong Nhat Hospital from June 2022 to June 2025. A total of 22 patients (100% male, mean age 62.5 ± 8 years old) underwent partial or total laryngectomy. All patients presented with hoarseness, and all tumors originated from the glottis. Histopathology confirmed well-differentiated squamous cell carcinoma in 100% of cases. 68.2% of patients underwent partial laryngectomy and 31.8% had total laryngectomy. Negative surgical margins were achieved in all cases. The postoperative complication rate was 31.8%. Overall survival reached 95.4%. These results demonstrate that laryngeal surgery at Thong Nhat Hospital is effective and comparable to outcomes reported by specialized head and neck centers both domestically and internationally.
