Factors associated with mature oocyte yield in IVF cycles using the Progestin-primed ovarian stimulation protocol

Abstract
This retrospective study included 101 in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycles using the Progestin-Primed Ovarian Stimulation (PPOS) protocol at Hanoi Medical University Hospital to identify factors associated with and evaluate the predictive value for the number of mature oocytes (MII). The mean female age was 32.53 ± 5.20 years old, and the mean number of MII oocytes retrieved was 10.06 ± 7.20. Multivariable linear regression analysis demonstrated that the number of follicles ≥ 14 mm on trigger day (β = 0.324; p = 0,005) and serum progesterone level on trigger day (β = 0.220; p = 0.010) were independently associated with the number of MII oocytes. The predictive model showed relatively good performance, with an adjusted R² of 53.0% (p < 0.001). These findings suggest that dynamic follicular and hormonal parameters on trigger day may provide significant predictive value for mature oocyte yield and could complement conventional ovarian reserve markers.
