Evaluating the clinical, X-RAY characteristics from patients performed 1-stage lateral sinus lift with simultaneous implant placement

Abstract
To evaluate the characteristics of jawbone density, soft tissue biotype, thickness and width of keratinized gingivae at implant sites. The case study on a cluster of 24 patients from 1-stage lateral sinus lift surgery with 33 dental implants performed. The highest prevalence of bone mineral density (BMD) type was D3 with a rate of 69.8%; The thick soft tissue and thin soft tissue accounted for 54.5% and 45.5% respectively; male patients had a higher percentage of thick tissue biotype with a rate of 59.1% while female patients had a higher percentage of thin tissue biotype with a rate of 54.5%; The mean thickness of keratinized gingivae was 2.7 ± 0.7 mm in the premolar group; 3.2 ± 0.3 mm in the molar group, the mean width of keratinized gingivae was 4.1 ± 0.7 mm for the premolar group; 5.2 ± 1.0 mm for the molar group. The BMD in the posterior maxillary region was mainly D3 type with a rate of 69.8%. The thick tissue biotype had a higher prevalence with a rate of 54.5%. There was no significant difference between males and females in soft tissue biotype. The mean thickness of keratinized gingivae was 2.7 ± 0.7 mm in the premolar group; 3.2 ± 0.3 mm in the molar group, the mean width of keratinized gingivae was 4.1 ± 0.7 mm for the premolar group; 5.2 ± 1.0 mm for the molar group. A statistically significant difference was found in the thickness and width of keratinized gingivae between premolar and molar groups.
